Teppanyaki or Hibachi Grill Table | How to Make Teppanyaki Beef Noodles at Home
Hibachi is a type of restaurant where food is served on a teppanyaki grill. That's why you may see both terms here.
You can't cook noodles with a hibachi, it has an open grate and the noodles will fall off, but if you want you can grill the meat on an open fire grill and put everything in a teppan or griddle or even skillet on the stove later.
Teppanyaki Hibachi Beef Noodles
Delicious grilled meat and vegetables, plus a meal of noodles.
EQUIPMENT
Teppanyaki or Hibachi Grill Table
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces ramen noodles or ramen noodles (or angel hair noodles)
½ pound steak or your favorite beef stir fry
½ cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon ginger grated
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 chopped green onions, plus more if desired
3 cloves of garlic
1 large carrot
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon sesame oil
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn on the stove, pour 250ml of water into the pot, put 4 tbsp of salt, and cook the noodles. When the noodles are tender, remove them from the pan and drain. Then set them aside for later use.
2. Meanwhile, if using a teppan plate or a grilling pan, slice the beef into thin strips. Arrange them in larger chunks for BBQ hibachi grill style and cut into thin strips after grilling.
3. Prepare a medium-sized bowl, add brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, minced ginger and soy sauce, then stir well. Toss the beef strips into the soy sauce mixture, using tongs to coat the strips. Leave the beef strips in the bowl to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
4. Shred the carrots, chop the garlic, and chop the shallots.
5. Turn on the stove and turn on the fire. Place a teppan plate (or skillet) on the stove and heat 1/3 of the butter and sesame oil. Or you can use an electric teppanyaki plate.
6. Once the oil is hot enough, use tongs to pick up the strips of beef and fry them in a skillet (or teppan plate) or place them on a hibachi grill. Cook the beef strips until they are browned (do not stir or flip).
7. When the other side is browned, flip the strips to cook the raw part.
8. Add the noodles, remaining butter, garlic, scallions and carrots to the skillet or teppan. Then stir until all ingredients are fully combined. Pour in the marinade and let the noodles absorb until they too are browned. When grilling a hibachi style, this is the time to take it off the grill. Cut them into thin slices and add them to the noodles.
9. Transfer them to a clean plate or bowl and top the noodles with more scallions. Now you have your beef hibachi noodles!
