Hibachi Table | Hibachi Fried Rice | Prepared Food Ingredients

You know, what they make for you in the steakhouse is on a large teppanyaki grill table in front of your eyes? Usually several eggs are thrown into the air and then broken with a spatula. Okay, so my hibachi fried rice doesn't have built-in entertainment, but it tastes like what you eat at your favorite hibachi restaurant, and it's fast and easy to make at home!

Earlier this year, I shared my 15-minute fried rice recipe with you, and now I bring you the hibachi fried rice that I like to make (I might even make more than fried rice recipes!) The best part is that it only It takes less than 10 ingredients, takes 15 minutes, and may be the best way to run out of rice for a day!

What is the difference between Hibachi fried rice and Chinese fried rice?

Hibachi fried rice and Chinese fried rice are made with different types of rice. Hibachi rice is usually made with rose rice, while Chinese fried rice is made with long grain rice. But the main difference between fried rice and Hibachi rice is that Hibachi rice is cooked on a hibachi table or a hot plate. If you have a teppanyaki griddle, you can use it for this recipe or the Dutch oven works just fine!

Here is what you need to make hibachi fried rice:

Rice: This dish requires cooked rice. Leftovers work best. Prepare the rice a day in advance and let it cool in the refrigerator overnight, the rice can be dried. It also helps to keep its shape better when we fry it in the pan. If you eat some for dinner and want to turn it into something else the next night, this recipe is perfect for making rice for a day. I usually cook a batch of brown rice in a pressure cooker the night before and put it in the refrigerator. Then, you have the perfect rice to become fried rice! If you make rice specifically for this recipe, you need 1¼ cups of uncooked rice.

High temperature oil + butter: For this recipe we will use a mixture of oil and butter. You can use only one of them if you like, but hibachi rice usually contains butter, which gives the rice a delicious flavor!

Eggs: Before mashing the eggs in the hot pan, you have to lightly beat the eggs in the bowl.

Chopped onion: Chopped onion gives hibachi fried rice a delicious smoky flavor (and butter and toasted sesame oil).

Grated ginger: Ginger adds a wonderful new flavor to rice. When it is cooked in butter, it will also become mellow and will not bite too hard in this recipe.

Soy sauce: I like to use low-sodium soy sauce for this dish so that the rice will not be too salty!

Toasted sesame oil: Toasted sesame oil brings tons of smoky flavor to this Hibachi fried rice. Ordinary sesame oil is fine, but as long as a teaspoon of toasted sesame oil, the fried rice will taste better!

What if you don't have white rice?

If there is no leftover rice, cook the rice on the same day, just spread the rice flat on a large baking sheet, let the rice cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour, without a cover. If you start this process early in the day, you can also let it sit at room temperature for a few hours. My mother did this when I was growing up, so this is absolutely true!
