Teppan Grill for Home | Hibachi Chicken and Vegetables Recipe

This recipe is perfect Japanese steakhouse style hibachi chicken and vegetables that you can make in the comfort of your own home. This recipe serves four people.

 

INGREDIENTS

• 4 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless, and thinly sliced
• 1 medium white onion
• 1 large zucchini
• 1 package sliced mushrooms (use an 8 oz pack)
• 1 small head broccoli
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 4 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium is best)
• 1 tablespoon butter
• Appropriate amount of salt
• Ground black pepper
• ½ teaspoon lemon juice

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Start by cutting the meat and vegetables into bite-sized slices.

2. In a large skillet, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and heat over medium heat.

3. Melt 1 tbsp of butter, then add 1 tbsp of soy sauce in the same pan, then add the chicken and season with salt and pepper. Be sure to stir frequently. When done, set aside and cover with some foil.

4. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp soy sauce and all vegetables (onion, zucchini, broccoli) and season with salt and pepper. Cook until they are tender enough to be picked up with a fork, about 7 to 8 minutes.

5. Then add the chicken and mushrooms to the same frying pan with the vegetables.

6. Add another tablespoon of butter and the last tablespoon of soy sauce and cook until the mushrooms are tender and the chicken is well heated through.

7. Add more salt and pepper, if necessary, and a dash of lemon juice just before serving.

You can serve it with fried or steamed rice, with pre-made yum sauce, or you can make it yourself.
